Santorini, Greece

Hello Everybody!

Last week I was on holiday in Greece with my family (thank you scheduled posts haha). We went to the beautiful island of Santorini and I took so many lovely photos I just had to share them with you on here.

I love reading and the book I read on holiday this year was Paper Towns by John Green. It is a relatively short book so I read it so quickly and did enjoy it. I can do a full post about it if that is something you would all like to read?

We also spent a whole day going on a boat trip around the island. It was such a fun day and I even managed to climb the volcano without dying (it was so hot I honestly thought I might haha)

We stopped for lunch at this restaurant right on the sea which was so calming and beautiful.

Oia was one of my favourite places on the island. The cute little white houses looked amazing against the blue of the sea. I also risked heat stroke here by refusing to take a donkey ride up the massive cliffside (I thought it was cruel..) from the boat to the town, so I walked instead! I appreciated the exercise though.

We watched the sunset which was stunning and I took way too many photos. It was super busy at this time of day though.

The other beautiful town on the island is Thira which I didn't like as much as Oia but it was still stunning.

We had our dinner here in a restaurant overlooking the bay and it was honestly so beautiful. I couldn't stop staring at the view for the whole meal.

We looked around both towns many times and I really loved it.

We also spent lots of our time walking down Perissa beach, looking in museums, eating food (of course) and drinking beautiful cocktails.

Look how pretty!

I would definitely go to a Greek island again on holiday. I had such a nice time. Have you ever been to one? And have you been anywhere this summer? See you in my next post for more MAC lipsticks and a few more makeup reviews are coming soon!

Love, Phoebe x

P.S. I also have decided I will be changing my url to phoebes-diaries.blogspot.co.uk but don't worry if you are following me on bloglovin, they will transfer all my followers for me.

MAC Syrup | Lipstick Swatches For Pale Skin

Hello Everybody!

This is my second post in a little series I am doing where I am swatching my MAC lipsticks for you. (links to the others at the bottom of the page)

This beautiful colour is Syrup and it is absolutely stunning! It could possibly be my favourite??? Although that is difficult to call haha as I love them all.

This is a lustre finish and goes on like a dream. The finish is pretty glossy and the colour is a pretty pinky purple. On me, it is almost a 'my lips but better colour' which I love!

This would be a great colour for someone too scared to wear something too bright but still wants a bit of colour. Personally I love it and wear it so much!

Again, my lips were dry in this photo so you can see it still looks pretty good.

MAC Creme Cup | Lipstick Swatches For Pale Skin

Hello Everybody!

As you know I am now getting on with my product reviews that have been promised but not quite delivered on my blog for some time. MAC lipsticks are always something that bloggers are interested in so I thought I would swatch the four I own for you in this little series.

These lipsticks are amazing and don't need a review to tell you how much I love them. (Just try one and you will see -  they also smell so good!) The first swatch I am going to show you is Creme Cup. This is the most recent addition to my modest collection.

It is a cremesheen finish which is a lot of people's favourite. It is creamy and produces a good and pretty opaque colour. I personally prefer some of the other more glossy finishes but everyone has there preference. I find the application of these not so smooth and more thick and sticky on the lips.

The colour is a pretty pink that I think will suit a lot of people.

When I took the above photos my lips were quite dry and you can see that the lipstick coped well and it still looks pretty good!

I hope this was helpful if you are currently looking for your perfect MAC lipstick! I three have more on their way soon :)

Wimbledon 2015

Hello Everybody!

I really am having an exciting week so this is another lifestyle post for you (sorry! If you want beauty reviews I have some coming next week for you). I did a post last year about my day at Wimbledon and this year me and my sister were lucky enough to get tickets in the ballot again! The tickets were again for Centre Court but this year we would be seeing the Monday of the second week.

After eating our M&S lunch in the outside courts we took our seats in Centre Court to watch the Williams sisters play each other in the fourth round of the competition. Serena won quite quickly and it was a good match to watch.

The next match was a good one because we got to see Andy Murray. The crowd were very biased so I did feel a bit sorry for the other guy haha. We began to feel a bit hungry half way through so thought we would have the Wimbledon classic: some strawberries and cream while watching it, which was delicious! Andy won, much to everyones delight.

After that we went to get dinner and had a look at the other games which were going on. For dinner I had a chicken burger which was so nice!

We then returned to Centre Court and watched Federer play amazingly and win very quickly. Federer is a crowd favourite and there were quite a few "I love you Roger"'s being shouted out throughout the match haha!

Because it was over so quickly and it was such a lovely evening we went and sat on Henman Hill to watch the really close Djokovic match on the screen. This had to be stopped at 9 due to it getting dark and you could hear the boos from the crowd in No1 court it was hilarious!

Here is a picture of me below looking happy haha. I had another lovely day and feel so lucky to have gone to Wimbledon for the third year in a row! I doubt I will be lucky again next year though! When this post goes up it will be nearly time for the finals and I am so excited to see who wins. (I would love to go on the final day one year, how cool would that be?!)

By the way basically everything I am wearing is from Topshop if you are interested. I am an addict I know.

RHS Hampton Court Palace Flower Show

Hello Everybody!

I have been a member of the Historic Royal Palaces for basically my whole life. With this membership I am able to get 15% off the Flower Show that takes place every year at Hampton Court Palace (a great place if you've never been). I don't know why we have never been but Sunday was my first time.

I actually had no idea what to expect from the flower show but really enjoyed the day. There were loads of small gardens to look at which all varied greatly. Some were themed, for example Alice in Wonderland and Winnie the Pooh but my favourite were those with loads of wild flowers which I love. I enjoyed taking photos of all the flowers (I took literally hundreds oops).

I was surprised to see how many shops there were, selling things from sculptures to sheds, all ridiculously expensive but I liked looking all the same. The event was also filled with places to get food which was amazing haha but also not something I really expected.

There were also tents filled with flowers on display, many of which were for sale. My favourite of these was the roses tent which looked at smelled amazing. I made my sister pose for photos.

(cue even more photos of flowers)

I really enjoyed looking at some of the stalls too, selling all kinds of lovely things like paintings and cushions.

The sun came out a bit later on and so we relaxed while watching the Gatsby Jazz Band (if I remembered that right) who were so good!!

This was a great day out and has now made me wish I had a huge garden to fill with everything I saw haha!

I hope you enjoyed reading this post (or rather looking at the photos) and let me know in the comments something fun you've done this week :)

Love, Phoebe x
