Nars Sheer Glow Foundation

Being pale and ginger, finding foundations light enough for my skin is quite a task. I had used L'Oreal infallible in the lightest shade for a while but it was never quite light enough. (however overall it is a good matte drugstore foundation and i would recommend it).

I am, like lots of girls my age, a big fan of beauty youtubers and the foundation that most of them seemed to use was Nars Sheer Glow. I had put off buying this because being a teenager I didn't really want to spend a lot on a high end makeup product. Recently though I thought I had to give it a go, especially since I get a 25% from John Lewis because of my weekend job! So i popped into the Oxford Street store and bought the lightest shade Siberia for the discounted price of £23.25 (normal price £31) which is a pretty good deal!

Then I tried it on at home.

It comes in a little cardboard box and the bottle itself it glass will a lid you twist to remove. I knew that it didn't come with a pump which i think is an immediate downside to this foundation because you have to pour it onto your hand or brush which is messy and probably wastes some of the product. I think you can buy a pump for it but that is just an extra expense.

I then applied it to my face and noticed immediately that the colour was pale enough which was great! In fact, it was almost too pale! The consistency was nice and i found that a little went a long way and you didn't really need much to cover up all your blemishes (great compared to my old foundation).

However when i had finished applying it I noticed that it has a very matte finish which didn't bother me really but I was just surprised seeing as this was in fact the 'Sheer Glow' not 'Sheer Matte'. I'm not really sure where the 'glow' was supposed to be but, particularly after applying powder, my face was matte. This could be because my skin is quite dry? I'm not sure.

On the whole though I really like this foundation and it is soooooo good for pale skin! It is quite expensive (if you pay the full price, i thought i got a really good deal) so that is definitely a downside but I really liked it :)

Do you think it lives up to the hype?
